<image:title>About Us - Alex’s background is originally in horses. He sold his first horse at 13 and went on to set up a business importing and selling horses from Ireland. After losing his confidence after a bad fall he set up a property portfolio management business and trained as a dog groomer. Alex always wanted to be a dog breeder having been bought a Spaniel by his parents at the age of 13. It came from one of the UK’s biggest puppy farms and had so many problems throughout his life that it spurred him to want to do it properly. In 2014 he bred his first litter of Standard Poodles and it has grown from there with the help of Mick. Alex deals with the social media, marketing and the day to day running of the business and is always grateful at the end of the day to take the dogs out with Mick to relax.</image:title>

<image:title>About Us - Mick’s background is in Finance but his real passion is working dogs and training. Growing up his family always had Labradors which were fully trained gun dogs, and Mick went on many shooting days with his Dad from a young age. From there he bought and trained his own Labrador “Piper” who now lives with Alex and Mick and is an excellent example for the younger dogs. Mick has a natural talent for training and it is because of him that we always try to include some working lines in their breeding. He is also incredibly talented at pairing the right puppy with the right family. Mick spends hours and hours getting to know each litters individual characters in great detail so he can make sure the right puppy goes to the right home. Mick is always on hand after you have collected your puppy to assist with any training or behavioural queries.</image:title>

<image:title>The D&D Difference - Why choose us?</image:title>
<image:caption>We have dedicated our life to our dogs and breeding. We can honestly say there isn’t one aspect of our life that we haven’t tweaked to make it fit around our passion. It can be hard scrolling through adverts and websites to find the right breeder for you, so we always encourage people to reach out and contact us so we can have a FaceTime or phone call and give you the opportunity to get to know us and see our passion, dedication and knowledge for yourself. Below we hope to outline how we are different and why we are so proud of what we do.</image:caption>

<image:title>The D&D Difference - Health Testing</image:title>
<image:caption>We DNA test every dog for health conditions that may affect the breed and this is done at a huge expense, but we think it is absolutely necessary and completely worth it. This has resulted in us selling puppies to extremely satisfied vets and other knowledgeable professionals. The individual dogs and breeds have different requirements and we are always happy to discuss them in more detail. We work very closely with the partner at our vet practice to make sure every decision we make is the right one.</image:caption>
</image:image>

<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/610957c8925b93194f962918/3b75c1a8-3bd1-44cb-a26c-6cd74973da7f/IMG_0198.JPG</image:loc>
<image:title>The D&D Difference - Lifetime Support</image:title>
<image:caption>Every single puppy we sell comes with us available for the rest of their life. We sell all our puppies with a contract that states they can never be resold or rehomed and must be returned to us. This is because we don’t let go of responsibility when you leave with a puppy, we take responsibility for their entire lives. Especially when it is a families first dog, we know how stressful it can be. We have often had messages late at night for advice about crying or housetraining and we are always happy to assist. We regularly have owners call or message with questions or needing advice years down the line and we love staying in touch. We do sometimes have to refer them onto a vet or trainer, as we are limited being at the other end of the phone, but we are always there to help and support as we understand it is a huge commitment and responsibility buying a new dog.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/610957c8925b93194f962918/ded3210a-6a04-4bf1-b9bc-868de6bfdda7/F80B98FC-7A04-425E-89D2-96C378E9D6E3.jpeg</image:loc>
<image:title>The D&D Difference - Breeding & Temperament</image:title>
<image:caption>All of our dogs have been meticulously chosen due to their health test results and temperament. They are all bred from Kennel Club registered parents and have impressive pedigrees - but it goes much further than that. Unlike most breeders we don’t just breed for how the dog looks or how many champions there are in the pedigree. We feel this is very narrow minded and short sighted. Our dogs may not win Crufts but we think they have the most amazing temperaments and we know we have done our utmost to breed a solid, healthy family pet.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/610957c8925b93194f962918/dada5978-1454-41ea-a091-1077bde9ef91/IMG_0059.JPG</image:loc>
<image:title>The D&D Difference - Socialising</image:title>
<image:caption>We take socialising very seriously. The puppies first two months set it up for the rest of their life. If a puppy is raised by a mother that is scared and wary of humans and other dogs, it is inevitable that the puppies will pick up and copy this behaviour. The puppies are all born and raised in the house, it can be a lot of work but the benefits are worth it. Once old enough, the puppies get to spend time with our other dogs learning vital skills as well as with any guests or visitors to our home. We both spend hours with them every day and make sure they have met our nieces and nephews, friends and as many family members as possible. We place importance on the little things such as ensuring they hear the hoover, the tv, kids playing (or fighting), getting used to all the smells and sounds of a busy household. If they weren’t in the centre of our home all this would be missed and we feel it has a lasting and powerful impact.</image:caption>
</image:image>

<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/610957c8925b93194f962918/fd4f4b2b-121d-43a8-915f-5409cc55db6e/IMG_0068.JPG</image:loc>
<image:title>The D&D Difference - Adult Wellbeing</image:title>
<image:caption>All of our adult dogs are happy, loved and properly looked after, because this isn’t a job for us, this our lifestyle our dogs are at the centre of it. We have 2.5 acres of land and the dogs get to live a full and enriching life as a pack. They swim in the river, jump over ditches and generally cause havoc, but it’s what we feel all dogs should be doing. With Alex being a groomer they are always groomed properly and kept in great condition. Our vet is only 10 minutes down the road and we work very closely with them to make sure the dogs are all in good health and happy. We have a very strict policy - if one of the dogs isn’t right, they go straight to vets irrelevant of the cost or inconvenience.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/610957c8925b93194f962918/9fefcc4d-eea2-4a0e-bffb-051eb3a16426/C090A486-5572-44BA-907B-A6C7C2FFCC4A.jpeg</image:loc>
<image:title>The D&D Difference - Training</image:title>
<image:caption>Training is Mick’s passion and because of this all the adults are trained to a degree, with some fully trained as gundogs. We don’t actually take them shooting but we find the mental stimulation is very beneficial and keeps them sharp and happy. We also always make a start to housetraining while the puppies are with us. They have their own section of the garden which our ‘puppy room’ opens directly onto. They absolutely don’t leave housetrained, but the feedback we’ve received from new owners suggests that the head start we give them makes it much easier and quicker. Mick has been known to teach a few puppies some basic commands such as sit/stay and in/out, especially if we have one or two with us for longer than the rest of the litter.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/610957c8925b93194f962918/de40da9c-5e33-4106-b3f2-c6f83bcaf62e/4C94DC28-8192-4587-A06C-88F4E554D4AD.jpeg</image:loc>
<image:title>The D&D Difference - Breeding License</image:title>
<image:caption>We are licensed by our local council and have been for 4 years. This is something we know lots of breeders avoid, but legally anyone that is breeding dogs should be licensed. It is by no means an easy process. It is very expensive, time consuming and stressful but something very important to us. Not only does it assure us that we are doing the best we can for both the puppies and the adults, it gives new owners the confidence that we do everything the right way and to the highest possible standards.</image:caption>
</image:image>
<image:image>
<image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/610957c8925b93194f962918/79e8d986-9816-4fe3-a4f1-6a5e4f537a32/IMG_0022.JPG</image:loc>
<image:title>The D&D Difference - Transparency</image:title>
<image:caption>We are transparent about every step of the process and we are honest with every single person we speak to. This has caused us awkward moments in the past, as if we don’t think someone is the right fit for one of our puppies we will tell them and advise accordingly. This is needed for us to be confident letting the puppies go off into the world but also builds trust - something which is needed when making such a big decision.</image:caption>

<image:title>How does it work? - How does the process work?</image:title>
<image:caption>In the first instance we ask people to contact us by filling out our contact us form or preferably our questionnaire to get a bit more information on you, your family and lifestyle. Both of these can be found on the Contact Us page. After that we usually like to arrange a FaceTime for us to have a chat with you and to give you the opportunity to ask us any questions you may have. If you decide you would like to commit to one of our puppies we ask for a £250 deposit to go on the waiting list. This deposit is fully refundable if we are unable to provide you with a puppy in your given time frame or is transferable onto our next available litter if the timing isn’t quite right for you. We will then notify you when your chosen litter is born via email. This email contains a lot of information (potentially too much) about everything you need to know and outlining everything you need to order and organise to be ready to bring the puppy home. We have new families visit at 4-6 weeks to meet us, the parents and puppies and this is a great opportunity to ask any last minute questions and for us to make sure you have got everything covered. This meeting is also vital for us to get to know you and helps us with the allocating process. We can gather lots of information from the call and emails but there is nothing quite like meeting face to face. We allocate the puppies between 7-8 weeks and let everyone on the list know which puppy they have been allocated before collection. Your puppy will ready to leave between 8-10 weeks having had its first vaccine and a thorough vet check. Unlike some breeders, our duty of care doesn’t end here. We pride ourselves on remaining available to every single person for the lifetime of the dog. We often have people with questions or needing help, support or just our advice weeks, months or years down the line and we take pleasure in being of assistance wherever possible.</image:caption>

<image:title>The exclusive training package - Our exclusive training package.</image:title>
<image:caption>After years of issues caused by ineffective trainers and poor advice from podcasts and books we took the bull by the horns. All of our clients will now have the option of this bespoke online training package with Seadogs Training. They will also be available for remote training sessions and online help. It’s going to be game changing for every single family and for our puppies which we know will now get the very best help available. I say it all the time but for a dog to be a nice family member, therapy dog or assistance dog the foundation is training that starts on day 1 and is clear, effective and consistent. A dog will never be therapeutic if it is anxious, badly trained or out of control. We spoke to countless trainers before finding the one and they are true dog people with a genuine gift. You may be confused that they are primarily gun dog trainers but the basics are the same. A good dog on the shooting field is calm, under control with reliable commands and all of these skills are transferable. Our business and your future with your dog will no longer rely on the pot luck of hoping you’ve found a decent trainer. We’ve taken the stress, time and risk out of the equation and you will have everything you need in one place. To reassure people of our intentions we are not profiting from this course. We recommend it because it works and it makes your life easier. In turn, our lives are easier as there will be less issues down the line. We’ve had too many puppies ruined by bad trainers and we always have to pick up the pieces and it’s time consuming but also incredibly depressing having put so much effort into our breeding programme and the raising of the puppies. This way everyone is better off and we’re so excited for the future generations of D&D doodles and their families that will benefit from it. What’s even better - you get all of this for £215.00. It is by far the best value training package available and it’s effective because it’s been specifically designed around the puppies we breed and the feedback we have had over the last 5 years. For that price you get The entire online training course including video guides showing in detail how to train your new puppy. 1 hour call before collecting your puppy. 45 minute video call in the first 2 weeks. 45 minute video call in the first 4 weeks. Online support for 1 year via their online chat. The feedback we have had so far has been transformational and we are so thrilled and passionate about providing our families a full and thorough service which now includes training.</image:caption>
